Starting Anti-Virus
To start Anti-Virus, enter STRAV on any command line. The main Anti-Virus screen appears:

To activate Anti-Virus, select 1. Activation from the main menu. The Activation screen appears, as shown in Activating and De-Activating Real-Time Virus Detection
The options under Scan IFS Directory include ways to setup and perform scans of files for viruses:
- To perform a batch scan, examining objects as a group, select 11. Scan in Batch from the main menu. The Scan by Antivirus (SCANAV) screen appears, as shown in Scanning in Batch Mode.
- To set Anti-Virus to scan objects in real time, as issues arise, select 12. Scan On-Line from the main menu. The Scan by Antivirus (SCANAV) screen appears, as shown in Scanning in Real-Time On-Line.
- To schedule a scan, select 13. Schedule Scan from the main menu. The Work with Job Schedule Entries (WRKJOBSCDE) screen appears, as shown in Scheduling Virus Scans.
- To scan a single string file in real time, select 14. Scan a STMF (by AVAPIAV API) from the main menu. The Scan a STMF for Antivirus (SCANSTMF) screen appears, in which you can specify the file.
To set and refresh definitions for Antivirus and its ICAP capabilities, select 21. Refresh, Definitions, ICAP under Various Definitions in the main menu. The Antivirus Definitions and Refresh screen appears, as shown in Excluding Objects from Scans
To set definitions for Antivirus to use, select 81. System Configuration from the Antivirus main screen. The Antivirus & AntiRansomware (ATP) Configuration screen appears, as shown in Setting Antivirus Definitions.
To import, export, or display virus definitions, select 82. Maintenance Menu from the main menu. The Maintenance Menu appears, as shown in Setting Antivirus Definitions.
